24-hour line

When a room is warming, call

The line is answered 24 hours a day, every day of the year, by a refrigeration technician on call. It is not a message service.

  • Tell us what is in the room, what the thermometer reads and whether the door is open

  • We say which pallets to move first, and to where, while we are on the way

  • We give you the time we expect to arrive on the call, not a window for the day

  • Nights, weekends and holidays are billed under your service agreement; there is no surprise rate

After you call

What happens, in order

  1. 01

    Step 1: A person answers

The on-call technician picks up, takes the room, the product and the reading.

  2. 02

    Step 2: You move product

We tell you what to move first, while we pack the truck.

  3. 03

Step 3: We arrive and test

Power, compressor, fans, defrost and doors, in that order, until we find it.

  4. 04

    Step 4: A plain report

What failed, what we did, and what to watch for the next three days.

Before we get there

Four things that buy time

  • Shut the doors

Every minute open is cold lost.

  • Clear the fans

Pallets pushed against an evaporator stop its airflow.

  • Read, don't reset

Write down the alarm code before you clear it.

  • Move the warmest first

Product loaded last is closest to the limit.

Questions

About the line

Who answers the 24-hour line, and do nights cost more?

A refrigeration technician on call answers, not a message service. Nights, weekends and holidays are billed under the service agreement you sign before the season, and we put that rate in writing then, not at 2 a.m.

A room is not pulling down. What do we do first?

Close the doors, check that nothing blocks the evaporator fans, and call the line. Tell us what is in the room and what the thermometer reads. If product is at risk, we will say which pallets to move first while we are on the way.

Can you add temperature alarms that text the night line?

Yes. We fit sensors in each room, set the high and low points with your shed manager, and send alarms to the phones you choose, ours included if you want a second set of eyes. We also keep the log so you can show it to a buyer.
